Give-away: Henckels 2pc Knife Set!

Who likes knives!? We do! We do!

Who likes YOU?! We do! We do!

CSN Stores has over 200 online stores specializing in anything you can think of! Need a home bar? Light fixtures? (We have some from there already!) Modern home furniture? How about some COOKWARE!? They have it all! They contacted us this morning to see if we'd be interested in testing a product or having a giveaway for our readers. Lucky you, we chose to do a giveaway!

A good knife is an essential tool to cook a good meal. Without it, you mangle produce, tear meat, and waste a lot of effort. I can't tell you how many times I've been shocked at the poor quality knives people keep in their kitchens, but I do understand! A good knife set can set you back well over $500, which is why I never owned a full set. I saved my money up to buy one knife I really wanted at a time. I pieced together quality knives that felt right to me, rather than hucking a chunk of change (or uh, credit card) at a brand-name knife set.

My first expensive knife purchase? A Henckels Santoku, similar to the one pictured above! We're giving away this set of  one 7" Santoku and one  4" Paring knives! Both knives have the hollow edges that characterize many Asian knives. These magical hollows allow the food you're chopping to slide off the blade instead of sticking to it.

CONTEST RULES:

To Enter: Simply leave a comment below telling us what your favorite meal is!
Contest Ends: Wednesday, April 7th 4pm!
Available: To all readers in the US and Canada
Selection: We'll post a short video of our cats picking the winner (yes, really, I have lost my mind!)

The winner will be notified April 8th and CSN Stores will ship directly to you! Good luck!

Hard choice! Favorite kind of food is fish, fish, and shellfish. But I think my favorite meal is a nice thick salmon fillet, broiled with some dill and lemon juice, on some brown rice, steamed broccoli and a green salad........

My favorite meal is boiled crab legs and shrimp. Yum!

Well...that's a hard one. But one I love is the Sausage & Spinach Stuffed Acorn Squash. Not only because it is really easy and yummy but because I can get a lot of the ingredients fresh from my garden (squash, garlic, onion, spinach) and from my freezer of wild game that Joel continually fills up :) (I used ground wild boar meat in place of the chicken). You guys ROCK :)

Current favorite meal=homemade pad thai.

Breakfast quiche! With lots of cheese and cream and eggs and veggies!

I would have to say my favorite meal is Shoyu Chicken from Aloha Mixed plate on Maui. For one, it is fantastic! Shoyu chicken with rice and macaroni salad and I tend to add a little sriracha...mmm good. Secondly, it is even more wonderful when I'm having it because I'm on Maui :)

A nice grass-fed steak, rare, with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed kale. And some sort of fruit-based dessert like a crisp or crumble, topped with mounds of fluffy whipped fresh cream.

Oh I love that your cats are gonna choose the winner. I do not own a Santoku knife and I would love one!
Favorite meal: A huge piece of perfectly seared wild salmon and tons of steamed veggies

Crayfish etouffe. We've had it at Pappadeaux's restaurant in Atlanta. I have a recipe that is almost as good.

Quite honestly. My set of knives stinks. What an awesome giveaway!

My favorite meal. Hmmm. Probably this penang curry with pumpkin that I had a place in downtown NYC called Prem-On Thai. I'm still dreaming about it.

To pick a favourite meal would be difficult, but it wuld have to be something Mediterranean or Greek like falafels and tabboulleh or spanakopita and dolmades.

This one is easy, provided my cholesterol diet has room for it, gotta stay heart healthy, right?

Rib-eye steak (pan fried to keep all the yummy juices) with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. When its not passover this should come with gooey french bread to help sop up all those yummy juices to which I referred in my earlier testimony. Oh and don't forget the beer! I find a nice Italian lager with a slight hint of bitter is perfect, Peroni is always a winner. Well, there it is, my culinary guilty pleasure out in the open for all to see. Fun stuff, I may be salivating...

That is a tough question because I love food! I would choose rack of lamb. And a good knife is an asset when cutting the rack into pieces!

I have to comment/enter just because your cats are picking the winner. Hee. :)

My favorite meal. Hm. Jeez, you guys know how hard that question is, don't you? I guess right now I'll say spicy Thai tofu and eggplant stir fry. It's my favorite meal of the moment, as I have been on a major veg kick.

I don't have one pick, but comfort Italian food, like a perfectly cooked risotto alla milanese, fried artichokes, and osso buco, or my grandmother's gnocchi with her slowly cooked tomato sauce. Soft polenta with butter and parmesan cheese? YUM!

Lemon Chicken Ring! Thanks for the chance...those knives would be a great addition to my kitchen. :)

When I am out of ideas for anything new and creative to make for dinner, or am just in the mood for some comfort food, I make my favorite artichoke chicken casserole. It is delicious with a rich flavor I can't get enough of! Here's the link to my blog entry, of course I have posted it on my blog! =)
